Hi, I’m Captain Phil Dugger Jr., a full time U.S.C.G. licensed and fully insured guide. I’m a 7th generation Southwest Floridian with over 35 years experience of light tackle saltwater fishing. I charter two boats which are moored at Gasparilla Marina, just minutes away from World Famous Boca Grande Pass and some of the best backwater fishing in the world. For Back bay and Flats fishing I fish out of my 21 foot custom Shallow Sport that can run in less than 4 inches of water and will get you where the fish are at the lowest of tides. The design also allows for a very stable fishing platform and short tower (better to locate the fish).

For Tarpon you’ll board “Podzilla” a 24 foot Morgan which was featured in the May 1999 issue of Florida Sportsman Magazine (Dreamboat). This boat was designed and built specially for Tarpon fishing. It’s 9 ˝ foot beam provides stability, room and comfort. Podzilla's inboard provides stealth approach on Tarpon. Boca Grande is World Famous for its largest concentration of Tarpon in the world. “Tarpon Fishing at its finest." Tarpon season runs from May thru August, sometimes thru September. Tarpon this time of the year travel in pods, cruising up and down the beaches and in the passes. Some Tarpon grow to be over 200 lbs. The average tarpon caught usually weighs in at about 130 lbs. with some well over 180 lbs. I primarily fish these “Silver Kings” with light spinning tackle (25-30 lbs. test). This method is highly productive. Less stress for the angler and provides more jumps during the fight. If you've never caught a Tarpon before, you're in for the thrill of a lifetime. These fish just don't give up and provide action which is unsurpassed by any other.

Flats and Back bay fishing in Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor offer some of the best light tackle sport fishing around. This area has miles of mangrove islands and bays that are the heart of the inshore ecosystem. Snook, trout and redfish can be caught year round. Other species such as flounder, snapper, mackerel, kingfish etc., are occasionally caught. And even on those not so picture perfect days, the fishing grounds have protected areas “out of the elements”. My job is to put you on the fish and make sure you have a great time. No yelling over mistakes or missed fish. If people don't have a good time, they won't be back. I rely on repeat business. I have everything you’ll need for a successful day of fishing except you, your camera and food/beverage of your choice. I supply live and/or artificial bait, ice top of the line tackle and Florida fishing license with snook stamp. Children are more than welcome. Besides catching fish and having one of the most enjoyable days on the water you’ve ever had, you’ll experience Good Ol’ Southern Hospitality at its finest. Group trips with multi boat packages available along with a list of local accommodations.
